September NAR median price decreases 9%

The National Association of Realtors has released its existing home sales numbers for the month of September, including the latest median price for homes, coops and condos. Here's how the numbers look through the month of September.

Picture #2: The September median price decreased by 9% from the median price in September of 2007. September was the tenth straight month with a year-over-year decrease of more than 5%. 

 

Picture #3: This past month represented the lowest median price for the month of September since September of 2003.

    

Adding it all up: Although existing home sales are showing some signs of life, the trend toward lower prices remains strong. 
 

August NAR median price decreases

The National Association of Realtors has released its existing home sales numbers for the month of August, including the latest median price for homes, coops and condos. Here's how the numbers look through the month of August.

Picture #2: The August median price decreased by 9.5% from the median price in August of 2007, the largest decrease yet. August was the ninth straight month with a year-over-year decrease of more than 5%. 

Picture #3: This past month represented the lowest median price for the month of August since August of 2004.

 

Adding it all up:Prices continue to trend lower, with the trend continuing to intensify over recent months.
 

A look back at NAR existing home median prices

Tomorrow the National Association of Realtors will release its existing home sales numbers for the month of August, including the latest median price for homes, coops and condos. Here's how the numbers look through the month of July.

Picture #1: The median price for homes, coops and condos decreased in July, continuing the trend that started in the Summer of 2006.

 

Picture #2: The July median price decreased by 7.1% from the median price in July of 2007. July was the eighth straight month with a year-over-year decrease of more than 5%. 

Picture #3: This past July had the lowest median price out of every July dating back to 2005.

Adding it all up: Prices continue to trend lower. Enough said.
